The Insider's Guide to Accessing NLM Data

nquire

As new Insider's Guide classes are no longer being offered, this site is not currently being updated. Please refer to NCBI's E-utilities documentation for more up-to-date information.

The nquire command creates a URL to query a server based on your specifications. This can be useful if you wish to bypass the EDirect commands and create an E-utilities API URL manually. However, nquire is not limited to creating E-utilities URLs, and also allows you to incorporate non-E-utilities API calls into your EDirect scripts.

This page is still under construction. For more information on nquire, please see NCBI’s EDirect documentation page, “Entrez Direct: E-utilities on the UNIX Command Line”.
